Recreation
In the summer months you can find for the recreation in the city swimming pool with sauna, tennis courts, minigolf, bowling and fitcentres. For fishing we have here nature lake Stráž, water dams Trnávka or Sedlice. The lovers of the tourism can go through all surrounding forests and find many mushrooms and blueberries. Bikers have here the opportunities test their physical condition on many hills and valleys.
During winter time are snow on the piste and cross country ski the right things for the guests of the hill Křemešník, Čeřínek and St. Kateřina near of Počátky.
Tips for trips
Křemešník
This forest hill is pilgrimage, trips and ski centre. On the top stands Baroque church of the Holiest Trinity and Wind castle/ house of the sculptor Josef Šejnost built by way old castle with sitting rooks on the battlement. From the top down goes Way of the Cross to the medicinal well. Look- out tower on the top gives you interessant view to the environs.
Castle Kámen
Gothic castle on the granite rock was built in 13th century. Today is in the castle unique exposition of the one- tracked vehicles.
Žirovnice
In origin Gothic castle built in the first half 14th century and later rebuilt. It has courtyard with arcades on the pillars. Inside of the object are remarkable late Gothic fresco from 16th century and grafitto. The town is famous with its nacre products.
Želiv
District on the confluence of the rivers Želivka and Trnava. Prince Soběslav in 1139 established here monastery that belongs to Premonstratensian. In the years 1713 - 1720 was rebuilt to the Baroque style. This district is very important place to the recreation for many people and it is point of departure to the water dams Trnávka and Sedlice. Both dams lay in the romantic valley in the middle of the beautiful forests. The waters of the river Želivka pertain to the clearest in our land and it is one of the sources drink water for Prague.
